BDO Smishing SMS: Fake Text Alerts, Hijacked Threads, and Safety Tips

BDO Smishing SMS: Fake Text Alerts, Hijacked Threads, and Safety Tips

BDO smishing (SMS phishing) explained

BDO smishing scams are fraudulent text messages that pretend to be official bank alerts. These messages can appear inside existing SMS threads, which makes them look more convincing. The goal is to get you to tap a link and enter your login details and OTP on a fake page.

Key reminder

  • BDO does not send clickable links via SMS or Viber. If a message contains a link, treat it as suspicious.

What to do

  • Do not tap the link.
  • Report scam texts to 22567888.
  • Check your account only through the official BDO app or website.
