Fake “Remove Device” and “Account Verification” Scams: What They Look Like

Fake “Remove Device” and “Account Verification” Scams: What They Look Like

Why “Remove Device” scams are dangerous

Some phishing campaigns use buttons such as “Remove Device” or “Account Verification” to make the message feel urgent and technical. The button usually leads to a fake login page where scammers try to collect your username, password, and OTP.

If you clicked a suspicious button

  • Close the page immediately.
  • Log in via the official BDO app/website and change your password.
  • Monitor your account for unauthorized transactions.
  • Report the message (email: reportphish@bdo.com.ph; SMS: 22567888).
